Happy New Year! What a great first day back from break and start to 2016! We started our day by coloring a winter picture and catching up with our neighbors about what we did over winter break. Then we learned our new letter of the week is Cc and says the /c/ sound (as in cat), and our new sight word of the week is "have." We read the Alpha Tales book,
Copycats, about two cats that like to copy each other. Then we did our letter C picture guess, read our Message of the Day, and did calendar. We went outside and enjoyed some recess time in the snow. During reading, we read the fictional story,
My Special Sweet Potato Pie, about run away sweet potatoes that need to be caught. After reading, we worked on math. We weighed objects and counters on a scale to make sure the scale is balanced and even. The morning class had Free Choice Time and our PM class had Library Checkout.
Reminders:
1) Homework Folders and Take Home Books came home today!
2) Please make sure your child has warm snow gear for outdoor recess (hat, boots, gloves, and jacket).
