Wednesday!
What a wonderful day we had today! We started out with a math fluency page working on making five. We also worked on different ways to make six using number bonds. We found all the combinations that make 6 together. In reading groups, we read our leveled readers, worked on our sight word "Are" page, reading our decodable, writing the sentences, and listened to "Monsters Love Underpants,"
In Personal Safety today, we learned the touching rule, which is: A bigger person should never touch your private body parts except to keep you healthy. We used the example of a mom or dad changing a baby's diaper, to keep them clean and healthy. The students also learned what they should do if someone does break "The Touching Rule." The student should refuse and report the incident to a trusted adult (eg. parent, teacher, grandparent, etc.). The students learned they should refuse by saying "Stop, Don't touch me, " and report to a trusted adult, "Mom, my friend broke the touching rule." Refusing and reporting when someone has broken the Touching Rule can help make sure the touching stops. And remember, it is never your fault if someone breaks the touching rule.
Reminders:
1) Take Home books due tomorrow.
2) Valentines and Valentine boxes are due Friday for our Parties at 9:50 and 2:00!
